Great Lakes Carbon Corporation is the largest producer of calcined petroleum coke (“CPC”) in the world. Anode grade CPC is the principal raw material used in the production of carbon anodes for use in aluminum smelting, and is used by every producer of primary aluminum in the world. Anode grade CPC represents over 80% of the Company's total sales. The Company also sells industrial grade CPC for use in the production of titanium specialty materials and chemical markets. The Company produces CPC at its three facilities located in Port Arthur, Texas, Enid, Oklahoma and La Plata, Argentina. The Company is headquartered in New York, New York and was taken public in an income trust offering in August of 2003.
