Stanadyne Corporation, (“Stanadyne”) is a leading designer and manufacturer of highly engineered, precision-manufactured engine components, including fuel injection equipment for diesel engines and valve train components for gasoline engines. Stanadyne’s products improve engine performance and are critical to achieving emissions compliance, noise reduction and fuel economy.
American Industrial Partners purchased Stanadyne in December of 1997. AIP in partnership with Stanadyne management completed the following initiatives during AIP’s ownership of Stanadyne:
- Re-established presence in automotive fuel pump market through quality and collaborative design initiatives
- Grew high-margin, recurring revenue of patented filters product line and other high margin aftermarket products
- Improved manufacturing productivity and costs through targeted capital spending and process redesign
- Established strategic marketing and technology alliances with strategic partners
- Established joint ventures in India and Brazil to access new revenue opportunities and reduce costs
American Industrial Partners exited its investment in Stanadyne in August of 2004 through a sale to Kohlberg & Company.
